21 October EVENT at Caloundra RSL
Caloundra is entering a defining decade, and the Chamber is opening the door for local businesses to help lead the conversation.
On 21 October 2026, the Caloundra Chamber of Commerce launches the Shaping Caloundra Event Series with The Working Lunch at the Sunshine Coast Function Centre. It is the first step in creating a platform for the business community, government, industry and investors to co-design a shared vision for the southern Sunshine Coast.
Partnership opportunities for the launch event are now open.
Why this conversation, and why now
Our region is being reshaped by forces that are already in motion. The Wave transport network, Sunshine Coast Stadium, expanded health and education facilities, record population growth, and an estimated 14.7 per cent of Queensland’s Brisbane 2032 venue and village pipeline sit within the region.
The Sunshine Coast population is forecast to grow from 365,942 in 2025 to more than 518,000 by 2041, a 42 per cent increase. More than 80 per cent of that growth is expected to come from intrastate and interstate migration. South of the Mooloolah River, where Caloundra sits, the projected increase is 105 per cent.
Decisions made over the next decade will shape this region for generations. The Shaping Caloundra Event Series exists so that those decisions are informed by the people who live and work here.
Who will be in the room
The Working Lunch brings together four key audiences: the Chamber’s 300 plus member businesses, the wider southern Sunshine Coast business community and neighbouring chambers, community leaders including elected representatives and government and industry figures, and private sector investors driving regional development.
The format is deliberately collaborative. Guided by a panel of subject matter experts, attendees will work through the core themes of regional identity, economic prosperity, sustainability, innovation and future readiness, and growth and infrastructure. The intended outcome is practical: real recommendations, genuine relationships, and a clear set of imperatives for the region’s future.
