Community Impact Award: Caloundra Chamber of Commerce and Community Bank Caloundra Bendigo Bank Partner to Support Local Business

The Caloundra Chamber of Commerce and Community Bank Caloundra Bendigo Bank have joined forces to launch a new initiative designed to strengthen the local business community and create greater opportunities for connection, growth, and inclusion.

The Community Impact Award is a collaborative program that provides Chamber membership to selected local small businesses and retailers who would benefit from participation in the Chamber but may not ordinarily have the resources to invest in membership.

At its heart, the initiative is about opening doors.

Both organisations recognise that small businesses are the backbone of our local economy. They create jobs, support local families, sponsor community activities, and contribute to the unique character of Caloundra. Yet many business owners spend their days focused on serving customers, managing operations, and navigating challenges, often without the time or resources to engage in broader business networks.

Through the Community Impact Award, the Caloundra Chamber of Commerce and Community Bank Caloundra Bendigo Bank are creating opportunities for these businesses to access valuable connections, professional development, advocacy, and support.

A Partnership Built on Community

The collaboration represents two respected local organisations leaning into their shared purpose of building a stronger and more connected community.

The Caloundra Chamber of Commerce has long been committed to supporting local business through networking opportunities, education, advocacy, and community engagement. Likewise, the Caloundra Community Bank has a proud history of reinvesting profits back into local initiatives that create positive social and economic outcomes.

Together, they recognise that thriving businesses create thriving communities.

This initiative directly supports:

  • Local retail growth
  • Small business inclusion
  • Emerging business operators
  • Stronger local business networks
  • Increased opportunities for collaboration and connection

By removing barriers to participation, the Community Impact Award helps ensure that more local businesses can access the relationships and opportunities that contribute to long-term success.

More Than Membership

While Chamber membership is an important component of the award, the real value lies in the connections it creates.

Business can often be a lonely journey. Having access to a network of like-minded business owners, industry leaders, mentors, and community champions can make a significant difference. Through Chamber events, educational programs, introductions, and advocacy initiatives, recipients will have opportunities to expand their networks, share their stories, and become more connected to the broader Caloundra business community.

The initiative also provides a platform to celebrate and showcase local businesses that are making a positive contribution to our region.

Congratulations to Our First Recipient

The inaugural recipient of the Community Impact Award is Shane Kensett from IGA Local Grocer Dicky Beach.

Shane and his team are well-known for their commitment to serving the local community and creating a welcoming neighbourhood hub for residents and visitors alike. Their contribution to the local economy and community spirit makes them a deserving first recipient of this initiative.

We look forward to welcoming Shane into the Chamber community and supporting new opportunities for connection, collaboration, and growth.

Building a Stronger Future Together

The Community Impact Award reflects what can be achieved when community-minded organisations work together with a shared vision.

By investing in local businesses and creating pathways for greater participation, the Caloundra Chamber of Commerce and Community Bank Caloundra Bendigo Bank are helping build a more connected, resilient, and prosperous local economy.

Because when local businesses succeed, our whole community benefits.
