Two of the Chamber’s monthly markets return this September following the winter break, bringing evening foot traffic back to Currimundi and Bulcock Beach.
Currimundi Lake Twilight returns on Friday 18 September, 4pm to 8pm, on Westaway Parade. Caloundra Twilight returns on Friday 25 September, 5pm to 9pm, along The Esplanade at Bulcock Beach. Both are free to attend.
What the markets deliver
The twilight markets are among the Chamber’s most visible community activations. Between them they host close to 100 stallholders each month, the majority of them small local operators, alongside food vendors, performers and community groups.
Caloundra Twilight draws more than 70 boutique stalls and over 20 food vendors to the Bulcock Beach Esplanade, with live music and activities for families. Surrounding hospitality businesses including Bunker, Drift Bar and Greedy Gringo trade through the evening, making the market an activation of the wider precinct rather than a standalone event.
Currimundi Lake Twilight takes a different form, built around up to 20 food stalls on the shores of the lake. It operates as an eco-friendly event, using existing street lighting to avoid disturbing local wildlife including nesting turtles, and requiring 100 per cent eco-friendly packaging from every stallholder. Cans collected at the market are donated to the Currimundi Catchment Care Group, who recycle them to fund their environmental work around the catchment.
