Retaining the Essence and Vibe of a Fast-Growing Region: Attended by President Michael Shadforth, and committee members Beau Salter and Amy Bennett.
A valuable look into the future at the Retaining the Essence and Vibe of a Fast-Growing Region conference, hosted by the Sunshine Coast Business Council at UniSC.
As Caloundra and the Sunshine Coast continue to experience exciting and sustained growth, the focus is not just on accommodating change, but on shaping it in a way that strengthens identity, enhances liveability and delivers long-term value.
The discussion reinforced the importance of aligning planning, design quality, infrastructure sequencing and genuine placemaking so growth happens with intent rather than by default. It was great to hear insights from across planning, development and design, and thanks to the Caloundra Chamber of Commerce and Sunshine Coast Business Council for convening an important conversation about the region’s future.
With multiple rail, road and active transport projects underway or proposed, alignment is critical to delivering practical outcomes for residents, businesses and the wider region, now and into the future.
Forums like this play a vital role in bringing government, council and community stakeholders together early, because better coordination upfront leads to better delivery on the ground. A big thank you to Kendall Morton and all involved for facilitating a collaborative approach to Caloundra’s future.
